Arenas

The County of Prince Edward manages and operates two arena facilities. The Prince Edward Community Centre (PECC) is located at 375 Picton Main Street in Picton, and the Wellington and District Community Centre (WDCC) is located at 111 Belleville Street in Wellington. Each facility has a single ice surface, dressing rooms, referee room, concession booth, and seating to accommodate spectators.

The Prince Edward County Minor Hockey Association and the Prince Edward Figure Skating Club are very active at both arenas, offering opportunities for County youth to participate in organized sport programs. Our Junior A Hockey Club, the Wellington Dukes, and our Empire B Junior C Hockey Club, the Picton Pirates, provide opportunities for residents to watch exciting competitive hockey.

There are also opportunities for adults, from beginner to advanced, and from young adult to senior, to participate in women's and men's leagues.

Public Skating & Shinny Hockey

Public skating sessions provide adults, youth, and families the opportunity to enjoy the great Canadian past-time of ice skating. Regular physical activity is one of the best methods of health insurance for both the young and old. Ice skating is for everyone, come on out and join in on all the fun. No assistive devices (chairs, strollers, pylons, etc.) are allowed except for persons with physical challenges. Children 5 years of age and under must wear a helmet and be accompanied by adults.

Weekday family skating sessions provide a slower paced opportunity for those learning or wanting some recreation. Adults, seniors, and those with disabilities are most welcome. These opportunities are available for adults to spend quality time with youth in a safe, quiet environment. Skating assists deemed safe by our staff will be permitted so long as usage does not compromise safety of others. Children must wear a helmet. A full face cage is recommended.

Shinny hockey and ticket ice times are available at both the Wellington and District Community Centre and the Prince Edward Community Centre. Click here for the November 2017 Ice Availability and Shinny Schedule.
