NOTICE: Ice rink, walking track to reopen in Wellington

The County of Prince Edward continues to support recreation opportunities as part of the phased reopening of municipal facilities.

Staff are currently preparing to install the ice at the Wellington and District Community Centre for figure skating, hockey, and public skating opportunities. The ice is expected to be ready for use starting on Thursday, October 1. Public skating is expected to be available in early October. The walking track will also reopen on October 1 to help residents stay active.

The ice season for the Huff Estates Arena in Picton will be determined at a later date based on demand.

The safety of patrons and staff remains a top priority for the municipality. Additional health and safety protocols will be in place at the community centre to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The measures include capacity limits in accordance with the provincial reopening framework and increased cleaning and sanitization. Click here to view the guideline.

The annual ice allocation meeting will take place Thursday, September 10 via Zoom. Past user groups will be contacted with the meeting details and information about the user rental contract with COVID-19 protocols they will need to follow.
