NOTICE: Landfill and transfer sites remain open with additional safety procedures

The County of Prince Edward has instituted additional safety procedures at landfill and transfer sites to protect staff and the public during the COVID-19 outbreak.

At landfills/transfer sites:

• All visitors must speak to an attendant when they arrive at a landfill or transfer site.
• Visitors must remain in their vehicle unless otherwise directed by the landfill attendant.
• Visitors are asked to bring small bills in order to facilitate exact change and limit the cash handling by the attendants.
• The public is reminded to refrain from visiting a landfill site for 14 days if you have recently travelled internationally or if you are experiencing symptoms or are unwell. Please practice social distancing (keep a distance of 2m/6.5’ from others), wash your hands thoroughly and frequently, and use hand sanitizer.

Curbside pick up:

• Curbside garbage, green bin, and recycling collection is continuing on the normal schedule at this time.
• Garbage bag tags are available at a variety of locations
• If you wish to have your garbage bag tags mailed to you, please mail a cheque to The County (attention Lindsay Cutler), Shire Hall, 332 Picton Main Street, Picton, ON, K0K 2T0. They can also be purchased at Shire Hall (Monday-Friday, 9 am-3 pm) and the Picton fire station (8 McDonald Drive)
