Custodian (Part-time, Permanent)

Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Custodian. Reporting to the Supervisor, Community Facilities, the Custodian is responsible for performing a variety of custodial duties of a daily routine nature in support of the maintenance of The County’s buildings, museums and town halls.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Related experience in cleaning methods, solutions, equipment, and procedures used in the care and safety of artifacts, heritage furniture and buildings.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement at all times.
  • Ability to work effectively in the absence of direct supervision.
  • Current WHMIS, and CPR/First Aid certification or ability to successfully complete.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends. Some exposure to outdoor weather may be required with outdoor tasks. 
  • Valid Class “G” Ontario driver’s license with the use of a safe, reliable vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Check.

The current rate of pay for this position is $21.30 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation as per Band 1 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Please submit your application prior to 4:00pm on February 14, 2025 to careers@pecounty.on.ca.
