Programs and Services Assistant (Full-time, Permanent)

Do you have a passion for community growth? Do you enjoy working on multiple projects? The Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the full-time permanent position of Programs and Services Assistant.  Reporting to the Programs Supervisor, the Programs and Services Assistant provides a wide range of support to the Community Services, Programs and Initiatives (CSPI) department. The Assistant will participate in activities such as research, analysis, writing, project coordination, customer service and public engagement. The department manages a diverse portfolio of community programs, plus customer service, municipal real estate, public engagement and consultation and economic development.   

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completed post-secondary education in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in the social and community services sector or municipal government, preferably within a community and/or economic development setting, required.
  • Excellent organizational, research, written and verbal communication, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proven expertise in a variety of software packages including MS Word applications and electronic records management systems (previous experience with TOMRMS is an asset).
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and sensitivity involving regular access to confidential data.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team is required.
  • Valid class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License.

The current rate of pay for this position is $27.81 per hour as per Band 8 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS. Please submit your application prior to 4:00pm on April 19, 2024 to
