The Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the full-time, permanent position of Recreation Attendant. Reporting to the Supervisor of Recreation, the Recreation Attendant ensures that the needs of our community are met by maintaining departmental assets including: electrical, janitorial, structural, ice maintenance, grass cutting and park maintenance of the community centre properties, parks with playgrounds, ball diamonds, splash pad and courts. The Recreation Attendant also supports with completing facility booking set-ups, tear-downs and monitoring of events.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
• Successful completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Consideration may be given to a combination of education and related experience.
• Basic Refrigeration certification is a considered an asset.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and those using Recreation and Community Facilities.
• Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence in good standing.
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Check.
• Ability to complete day, evening and weekend shifts, and work at various locations.

The current hourly rate of pay for this position is $24.47, as per Band 5 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Compensation also includes a competitive benefit package and membership in OMERS, a defined benefit pension plan.
