Summer Student: Research & Communications Student
Are you interested in gathering and examining data? Do you enjoy communicating with both internal and external stakeholders? Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the summer student position of Research & Communications Student to support our Community Services, Programs & Initiatives Department in Prince Edward County, a vibrant community with beautiful beaches, wide open landscapes and ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including artistic and cultural events, food, music and wineries/breweries.
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a post-secondary program of study in Communications, Public Relations, Media or a related discipline and will be returning to school in the Fall. Working with our Programs Supervisor, this student will offer research support for community development projects, as well as communication and consultation efforts. Some of these projects could include community safety and well-being, youth engagement, rural transportation and public transit, non-profit sector partnership, as well as community stakeholder engagement and communication strategies.
General qualifications include:
• Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary program and returning to school in the Fall.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
• Able to work as part of a team and independently, as required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
