Low-income Prince Edward County residents can now apply for financial relief on their property taxes and/or water/wastewater bill through the Municipal Financial Relief Grant.
- Applications will be accepted until July 15, 2024.
- County residents can apply for one of the two available grant streams:
- Qualifying tenants who pay for water and wastewater services can apply for a credit of up to $350 on their water bill.
- Qualifying homeowners can apply for a credit of up to $750 on their property tax account.
- Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application in September; credits are applied to the September bills.
- Households earning less than $32,240 (single income) or $64,480 (family income) will be able to apply. Click here for more information on eligibility requirements and how to apply.

Do you need help filling out the application? You can get assistance in person on the following dates:
- Wednesday, May 22 from 10 am – 1 pm at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street, Wellington)
- Wednesday, June 5 from 1 pm – 4 pm at the Picton Town Hall (2 Ross Street)
