Apply now to serve on an advisory board or committee

December 28, 2022

Recruitment for members of County advisory boards and committees is now underway.

“Help make a difference in your community by serving on an advisory board or committee,” Clerk Catalina Blumenberg says. “It’s a great way to share your expertise and unique perspective on County initiatives and projects.”

Advisory boards and committees provide Council and staff with input about a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations and recommendations. Some committees also organize and participate in community events.

Council, recognizing the value of youth input, wants to grow youth involvement in advisory boards and committees. Several advisory boards and committees now allow the appointment of up to two youth members (between the ages of 16 and 25) with flexibility in their length of terms.

The municipality is recruiting for 11 advisory boards and committee as well as nine ward recreation committees. Visit the County website to learn more about each committee and its terms of reference.

Any permanent resident, property owner, or business owner in Prince Edward County who is 16 years of age or older is eligible to apply for most committees. There may be additional eligibility requirements required by legislation for membership, which is outlined in the terms of reference.

You can apply online through the County website. A hard copy of the application form will also be available at the following locations:

  • 246 Wellington Main Street, Wellington, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 5 pm, from Tuesday, January 3, 2023
  • 280 Picton Main Street, Picton, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am to 5 pm, from Tuesday, January 3, 2023
  • County of Prince Edward Public Library branches during library hours.

The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023. If you have questions, contact the Clerk’s Office at 613.476.2148 extension 1020 or email clerks@pecounty.on.ca.
