Arenas, town halls closed into New Year

December 29, 2021

Updated January 10, 2022

All municipally owned indoor recreation facilities including arenas and town halls remain closed during Step 2 of the provincial government’s Roadmap to Reopen.

The provincial regulations under Step 2 will remain in place at least until January 27.

The Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) will remain open for vaccine clinics and COVID-19 testing. Vaccine appointments must be booked in advance through the Ontario’s booking portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900.

The COVID-19 assessment centre operates Monday to Friday, 1-4 pm. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 613.813.6864. On Saturday and Sunday, messages may be left to arrange an appointment the following week. Those requiring weekend testing may call 613.961.5544 or go online to arrange testing at the Belleville and Trenton assessment centres.

The number of cases in the Hastings and Prince Edward health region are increasing at a concerning rate. The County is taking action to protect the community and reduce strain on critical health care resources. In-person counter service at municipal offices is restricted to appointment only.

In addition, H.J. McFarland Memorial Home is adjusting its visitation policy to align with provincial regulations. As of 12:01 am on Thursday, December 30:

  • Access to long-term care homes by general visitors will be paused. Designated caregivers may continue to enter long-term care homes.
  • Day absences for all residents for social purposes will be paused.
