Council Highlights – July 12, 2022 – Regular Council

Tenders Awarded

Council awarded the following tenders:

  • Tender awarded for asphalt repairs to Coco Paving Inc. in the amount of $289,019.33.00 plus applicable taxes;
  • Tender awarded for two tandem dump trucks and winter implements to Premier Trucking Group in the amount of $716,020.00 plus applicable taxes. (with additional funds added to Capital Projects and that a total of $100,866.00 be funded from the Reserve for Capital Sustainability and the Reserve for Roads Equipment).
  • Tender awarded for a Pumper-Tanker Fire Apparatus from Dependable Emergency Vehicles for $649,209.00 including applicable taxes (with an additional $251,509.00 to be funded from the Fire Reserve).
  • Tender awarded regarding the Picton Master Servicing Plan to CIMA Canada Inc. in the amount of $462,020.00 plus applicable taxes. Council approved the increase to be funded from the Reserve for Road Construction in the amount of $12,925 and from Long Term Debt in the amount of $116,331.00.

 

Other Business

Council adopted a by-law to declare surplus and to authorize the execution of an agreement of purchase and sale between the County and the Prince Edward County Yacht Club (Water Lot Queen Elizabeth (Hill Street) to make a Park Title Correction to Fairfield Street Parking Lot & Municipal Docks). Council received the presentation by Ken Dewar regarding the annual report from the Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Council approved reports from various committee meetings. In doing so, Council will support a County Climate Symposium event on November 13, 2022 as a Project of Community Interest and have directed the CAO to invite staff, at the CAO’s discretion, to attend the Project of Community Interest, to participate in presentations, and/or do public engagement and information collection.
