July 12, 2023

The County of Prince Edward is now accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from community members and organizations interested in locating at a new multi-use development proposed on the former Queen Elizabeth School site in Picton.

The municipality, which recently purchased the site, aims to create a “community within a community” that brings together community service providers, businesses, and professionals currently operating with in Prince Edward County. Together, they would address pressing social, environmental, and economic issues, advance cultural planning activities, and contribute to the revitalization of the neighborhood by providing affordable housing, childcare programming, and community services and programs.

The deadline to submit an EOI is 4 pm on Monday, August 21. The EOI document is available on the County’s website.

Information sessions for the EOI will be held at the Picton Town Hall (2 Ross Street) on the following days:

  • Tuesday, July 18 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am
  • Thursday, July 20 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am

A Tenant Selection Committee will review the EOIs as part of its process of making recommendations to County Council on the tenant mix for the redevelopment of the site.

The County is currently accepting applications for the Tenant Selection Committee. The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 27. Click here for more information about applying to serve on the committee.
