The County of Prince Edward wants to hear from residents as it prepares the 2022 budgets.
“We are taking a new approach this year with the budget by welcoming more people into the conversation,” Mayor Steve Ferguson. “We want to raise awareness about the budgeting process, and we look forward to getting your feedback along the way.”
Residents can get involved in the budget process in a number of ways:
- Fill out the online survey. Hard copies are available for pick-up at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street) and Prince Edward County Public Library branches. The survey will close on Friday, October 8.
- Check out the Have Your Say budget engagement page. You can share your ideas or questions, get answers to frequently asked questions, find links to the 2021 budget documents, and fill out the online survey.
- Attend the virtual information session on Monday, September 27 from 5:30-6:30 pm. The session will stream live on the County’s YouTube channel. It will also be recorded and available for viewing anytime. Have questions? Send them in advance to communications@pecounty.on.ca and staff will answer them during the session.
Results of the public consultation will be shared with residents in October. Council will consider the proposed capital budget December 8-10, 2021 and the proposed operating budget February 2-4, 2022. The public can watch those meetings live on the County’s YouTube channel.r
