County seeks members for Tenant Selection Committee and Environmental Communications Working Group

The County is looking to attract a diverse range of dedicated community volunteers to serve on a new committee and a new working group.

What to expect as a member of the Tenant Selection Committee for the former Queen Elizabeth School site (seeking a maximum of 5 public members):

The Tenant Selection Committee will be responsible for making recommendations to County Council on the tenant mix for the redevelopment of the former Queen Elizabeth School site. The County hopes to attract various agencies that are currently operating in the County with the opportunity to have access to shared space to support a coordinated service-delivery model. In order to be eligible to serve on the Tenant Selection Committee, applicants must be:

  • A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident, property owner, or business owner in Prince Edward County that is 16 years of age or older.
  • Applicants must not be on the board of, or business partner of, an organization that plans to submit an Expression of Interest.
  • Applicants must not be related to an employee or board member of an organization that plans to submit an Expression of Interest.
  • Interested candidates are asked to complete the Tenant Selection Committee application form available on the County’s website.
  • The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Committees provide Council and staff with input about a wide variety of subjects through discussions, presentations, and recommendations. Some committees also organize and participate in community events.

Committees are made up of citizens with valuable expertise and perspectives that add richness and authenticity to initiatives and projects. Citizen members are appointed by Council.

The County is also recruiting dynamic community volunteers to serve on the newly formed Environmental Communications Working Group.

What to expect as a member of the Environmental Communications Working Group (seeking maximum of 10 public members):
Members will identify outreach and engagement channels to support the Environmental Advisory Committee’s initiatives. The working group will advise the committee on appropriate communications and outreach opportunities and prepare communications material with a focus on promoting climate change mitigation and adaptation throughout the community.

In order to be eligible to serve on the Environmental Communications Working Group, applicants must be:

  • A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident, property owner, or business owner in Prince Edward County that is 16 years of age or older.
  • Interested candidates are asked to complete the Environmental Communications Working Group application form available on the County’s website.
  • The deadline to apply to the Environmental Communications Working Group is 11:59 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2023.

A working group is an assembly of interested people, led by a chair, working together to determine the best strategic ways to impact a specified subject, as determined by the Terms of Reference.
