County studying future of transportation in Picton

December 1, 2023

The County of Prince Edward is developing a Transportation Master Plan (TMP) for the Picton Settlement Area.

The TMP will assess the short- and long-term transportation infrastructure needs and deficiencies within Picton. The plan will identify improvements to the multi-modal transportation network in order to address existing and future travel demands.

The County completed a County-wide TMP in 2021. A Picton-specific TMP is now required due to a higher level of growth projected within the study area, beyond what was assumed as part of the 2021 TMP.

Public consultation is an important part of the TMP. Three Public Consultation Centres (PCCs) are currently planned as part of this study. The first PCC will introduce this study. Members of the study team will also gather public feedback on the study background, existing study area conditions and next steps in the study process.

The first PCC will be held on Tuesday, December 12 at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) from 6 pm – 8 pm. It will be held in a drop-in style format.

For more information on the project, visit the County’s website.

If you want to be added to the project contact list to receive notices and information, or to provide comments at any time during the process, please contact Jeff Shortt, Project Manager, at 613.476.2148 extension 1007 or email jshortt@pecounty.on.ca.
