County to begin construction of Glendon Green walking path August 31

August 31, 2023

August 31, 2023

Construction of a walk path at Glendon Green boat launch will take place from August 31 – September 15.

During this time, the parking area located immediately next to the launch will be inaccessible due to heavy equipment.

The boat launch itself will remain open and parking along the access road into the launch will remain available. Residents are asked to avoid the work area for their safety.

The County has secured an agreement with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) to develop a walking path on MECP-owned property located next to the Glendon Green boat launch. The construction of the path will be completed along with additional improvements planned for the site that were identified by the Athol Recreation Committee and County staff.
