The reconstruction of Elks Street in Picton will get underway on Tuesday, September 7.
The work will continue over the next several months, with an anticipated completion date early in December, 2021.
The reconstruction project includes the replacement of all underground infrastructure such watermain, sanitary and storm sewer. In addition, the contractors, Cooney Excavating, will replace the asphalt roadway, concrete sidewalk and curb.
The project will require temporary above-ground water and sewer services. Residents directly impacted by the work have received hand-delivered notices notifying them of the work.
Major traffic disruptions will occur for the duration of the project. However, local access to residents, businesses, and the Elks Lodge will continue at all times.
