Emergency overnight accommodations available Jan. 2-3

January 2, 2022

Emergency accommodations are available overnight this evening, January 2-3.

If you need a place to stay overnight, please call the local Salvation Army office at 613.476.3159. Leave a message and a representative from the Salvation Army will call you back to arrange accommodations.

The County has partnered with the local Salvation Army to offer emergency overnight accommodations during extreme cold conditions.

Emergency overnight accommodations will be available when Environment Canada forecasts a temperature of -15° C or colder, or a wind chill of -20° C or colder, for Prince Edward County. The program is supported financially by the Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services.

The municipality’s emergency control group developed the extreme cold weather procedure based on community need and practices in similar-sized municipalities.
