Hazardous and electronic waste mobile event April 22

April 11, 2023

April 11, 2023

All residents are invited to dispose of their household hazardous and electronic waste at mobile events held throughout the year in April, June, August and October.

  • Quinte Waste Solutions has published the 2023 calendar for hazardous and electronic waste disposal events.
  • The first event in Prince Edward County will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 75 County Road 1 (Sandy Hook Road), Picton.
  • Residents can drop hazardous and electronic waste free of charge from 9 am – 2 pm.
  • Household hazardous and electronic waste can be found in almost every room of your home. These products, if thrown in the garbage or poured down the drain, can have negative effects on the environment including an impact on groundwater and surface water such as creeks, rivers, and lakes.
  • Click here to see a full list of items that are accepted at mobile events.
  • Please note that motor oil and scrap metal are not accepted. Motor oil must be dropped at the hazardous waste depot in Belleville. Operating hours are available on the Quinte Waste Solutions website.
  • Also on April 22 at 115 Lake Street in Picton, the municipality will be giving away a limited number of composters to the public to support managing organic waste. A select number of composters can be reserved online on a first come first serve basis and will be available at the works garage from 8 am to 12 pm on April 22.
  • For more information, contact the County of Prince Edward at 613.476.2148 extension 1023, 613.962.9108 extension 1023 or info@pecounty.on.ca.
