County residents are invited to dispose of their household hazardous waste and electronic waste this weekend at two drop-off events in Picton.
Household Hazardous waste:
Quinte Waste Solutions has published the 2022 calendar for household hazardous waste disposal events. The first event of 2022 will be held in Picton on Saturday April 23, 2022.
County residents can drop household hazardous waste free of charge on Saturday, April 23 from 9 am – 2 pm. The event takes place at 75 County Road 1 (Sandy Hook Road).
Household hazardous waste can be found in almost every room of your home. These products, if thrown in the garbage or poured down the drain, can have negative effects on the environment including an impact on groundwater and surface water such as creeks, rivers, and lakes.

Electronic waste
Picton Home Hardware is hosting an electronic waste drop off event on Saturday April 23 from 10am – 3pm at 13544 Loyalist Parkway.
The public is encouraged to drop electronic waste such as televisions, computers, computer peripherals, monitors, printers, telephones, cell phones, cameras, radios, and video and stereo equipment.
