Holidays, provincewide shutdown to impact County services schedule

December 21, 2020

Changes to County facilities and services during the holiday season and the provincewide shutdown are outlined below:

Municipal Offices/Facilities

All administrative offices will be closed for the holidays on Thursday, December 24, Friday, December 25, Thursday, December 31, and Friday, January 1.

In addition, the public will not have access to all municipal buildings, recreation facilities, town halls, museums, and library branches during the provincewide shutdown, which will be in effect until Saturday, January 23. You can access services and make a variety of payments online. Learn more

Garbage bag tags can be purchased at a variety of locations across the County. The municipality reminds you to call ahead and check if the store has bag tags in stock. For retailers that require additional bag tags for resale, please call 613.476.2148 extension 1023 to arrange pickup.

New Year’s Levee

The annual New Year’s Levee hosted by the Mayor and Council will not take place this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Mayor Ferguson will release a video address next week.

  • 613.476.6505 for road emergencies
  • 613.967.8777 for water or sewer emergencies
  • 911 for emergencies / 613.476.2345 for non-emergencies. Prince Edward County Fire & Rescue is open 24/7 over the holiday season, including statutory holidays
