A public consultation session for the Wellington interim control by-law review will now occur on Wednesday, May 12 from 7:30-8:30 pm.
During the virtual session, residents will hear about the Secondary Plan review currently taking place. After they present an overview of the process, County planning staff will facilitate small group discussions to understand residents’ preferences for land use and development in the village of Wellington.
The municipality is undertaking the review as a result of Council enacting Interim Control By-law No. 177-2020 in September 2020, freezing development from expanding into un-serviced areas of the Village of Wellington for a period of one year. The Interim Control By-law gives the municipality an opportunity to review current land use policies within the Wellington Urban Centre Secondary Plan with consideration for the proposed new master servicing plan.
As physical public attendance is not permitted at this time, the County invites the public to participate virtually, via Zoom, by registering with Cristal Laanstra, Planner, by emailing claanstra@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Friday, May 7, 2021. Upon registering to attend, members of the public will be emailed a unique link and directions for participating in the meeting via Zoom meeting.
Following the public consultation session, residents will have the ability to submit additional feedback through the County’s Have Your Say consultation platform.
