NOTICE: Road closure on Wellington Main Street Sept. 19 for ceremony honouring Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

September 15, 2022

A road closure is scheduled for Monday, September 19 for Wellington Main Street between Maple Street and Wharf Street.

 

  • The closure is planned from 11 am – noon to accommodate a remembrance ceremony in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The Legions from Wellington, Picton and Consecon will be holding the ceremony at the Wellington Park Cenotaph.
  • Legion Veterans and Colour Parties will gather to lay wreaths and conduct a remembrance service.
  • Member of the public are welcome to attend the service.

 

Books of Condolence: Residents wishing to share messages of condolence in honour of the Queen are reminded that books of condolences are available at various locations in the County.

 

Books of condolences will be available in person at the following locations until September 16 for the public to sign:

 

    • Main floor of the Edward Building (280 Picton Main Street), 8:30 am – 5 pm
    • Wellington Town Hall (246 Wellington Main Street), 8:30 am – 5 pm
    • Ameliasburgh Town Hall (13 Coleman Street, Ameliasburgh), 1 -3 pm and 6 -8 pm. The Prince Edward District Women’s Institute is volunteering at this site.
