Provincewide shutdown in effect until January 23

January 4, 2021

All municipal buildings are closed during the provincewide shutdown.

Recreation facilities, town halls, museums, and library branches are also closed to the public during the provincewide shutdown, which will be in effect until Saturday, January 23. You can access services and make a variety of payments online. Learn more

Garbage bag tags can be purchased at a variety of locations across the County. The municipality reminds you to call ahead and check if the store has bag tags in stock. For retailers that require additional bag tags for resale, please call 613.476.2148 extension 1023 to arrange pickup.

New restrictions for short-term accommodation rentals will be in effect during the shutdown. As per provincial regulations, short-term rental reservations made before December 26 will be honoured regardless of when the rental occurs. No new reservations can be made after December 26, except for individuals in need of emergency housing.

The restrictions apply to whole-home and owner/tenant occupied short-term accommodations, cabins, and cottages but not hotels, motels, lodges, resorts, and student residences.

County by-law officers will enforce the restrictions during the provincewide shutdown, which will take place December 26-January 23. If you believe a short-term accommodation rental is operating in contravention of the restrictions, please call 613.476.2148 extension 2050.
