Public Information Centre for County Road 7 (Lake on the Mountain) traffic review moved to January 31

January 20, 2022

The virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) concerning the pedestrian and vehicle traffic review of County Road 7 at Lake on the Mountain has been moved to Monday, January 31 at 7 pm.

The County has opted to move the meeting so that it is not on the same night as the Prince Edward County Business Excellence Awards. The event, hosted by the PEC Chamber of Commerce, celebrates the contributions of business-people and features organizations that exemplify leadership and business excellence in the community. The County apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this inadvertent scheduling oversight on the part of the municipality.

The County is holding the PIC to seek public feedback on a report completed by the Ainley Group regarding a Pedestrian and Traffic Review along County Road 7 at Lake on the Mountain

The PIC is an information-only meeting, where findings of the report will be presented but no decisions made. If any member of the public would like to ask questions or make comments they will be able to do so after the presentation. A copy of the review will be posted on the County website and shared on the municipality’s Facebook and Twitter accounts next week.

Following the PIC, staff will consider all feedback received in conjunction with the findings of the Review and bring forward a  staff report with recommendations that will be presented to Council at a meeting in February or March.

In August 2021, Council directed staff to prepare a report that includes a technical evaluation of pedestrian and vehicle safety in the Lake on the Mountain area. The municipality undertook this work in response to concerns about parking restrictions on the public roadway in this area.

Members of the public who wish to attend the virtual public meeting must register by contacting Aynsley Osborne at aosborne@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Friday, January 28. The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom. Questions about accessing Zoom meetings can be answered by contacting Aynsley Osborne at the email above.

For more information contact Aynsley Osborne, Development Coordinator, at 613.476.2148 extension 2005 or email aosborne@pecounty.on.ca.
