Recreation facilities and town halls closed in response to rising COVID-19 cases

December 20, 2021

The County is closing all indoor recreation facilities and town halls effective Tuesday, December 21, in response to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the region.

The municipality will reevaluate the closures and provide an update to the public early in January 2022.

The Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street) will remain open for vaccine clinics and COVID-19 testing. Vaccine appointments must be booked in advance through the Ontario’s booking portal or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900.

The COVID-19 assessment centre operates Monday to Friday, 1-4 pm. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 613.813.6864. On Saturday and Sunday, messages may be left to arrange an appointment the following week. Those requiring weekend testing may call 613.961.5544 or go online to arrange testing at the Belleville and Trenton assessment centres.

Municipal offices at the Edward Building and the Picton fire station (8 McDonald Drive) will remain open to the public with reduced hours. To limit contact and ensure the safety of both the public and staff, the County urges the public to access services online whenever possible. Visit the County website for more information or call Customer Service for assistance at 613.476.2148 extension 1023 or 613.962.9108 extension 1023.
