In addition, a special clinic to help young children under the age of 12 get the COVID-19 vaccine will take place on Thursday, October 13 from 3-6:30 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street).
People aged 12 and over who are eligible for their first, second, third, or fourth dose of the vaccine can get the COVID-19 vaccine at the above clinics. There are also a limited number of appointments for both children under 5 years of age and children aged 5-11 kids at all clinics.
You may book an appointment in advance for these clinics. Go online to book or call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900. Walk-ins may be accepted at all upcoming Picton clinics depending on vaccine availability. Updates will be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
The Picton clinics now have the updated Moderna booster vaccine for adults aged 18 and over. If you are not sure what to get, people are encouraged to book an appointment and the health professionals on site will walk them through their options to help them decide what is best for them.
Second booster dose eligibility expanded
Ontarians aged 18 and over are now eligible to get a second booster dose. An interval of 165 days (about five and a half months) since your last shot is recommended but you can get it as early as 84 days (about three months). If you want to receive the booster earlier than 165 days since your last shot, you must provide informed consent by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900 and booking your next dose.
If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, you should speak to your health-care provider about the optimal timing for your next dose. If you do not have access to a provider, the health-care professionals at the vaccine clinics will be available to discuss with you.
Eligible individuals can also receive their vaccination at participating local pharmacies, by contacting the pharmacy directly. Please visit covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations for location and registration information.
