South Marysburgh landfill mulch giveaway program begins October 15

October 7, 2022

Prince Edward County staff are pleased to announce that an inaugural mulch giveaway program will begin on Saturday, October 15 at the South Marysburgh landfill (1132 Old Milford Road).

Taking advantage of the large quantities of brush that The County receives at waste sites, the program is designed to reduce disposal costs, improve waste diversion through beneficial re-use, and to provide residents with a beneficial mulch product.

Commencing October 15, mulch will be available every Saturday at the South Marysburgh landfill during regular hours of operation (8 am – 4 pm), while supplies last.

The program is a self-serve service for residents. Those who wish to participate will need to bring their own supplies for collecting and transporting the mulch (heavy or motorized equipment is not permitted).
