Statutory public meeting for Official Plan set for December 15

December 7, 2020

A statutory public meeting to discuss possible revisions to the municipality’s draft Official Plan is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15.

The public is invited to participate virtually or make written comments because in-person attendance is not permitted due to COVID-19 protocols. The meeting will stream live on the channel beginning at 6 pm.

Deputation requests or written submissions must be sent to the Clerk’s Office by noon on Tuesday, December 8.

During this final stage of adopting a new Official Plan, public consultation has been ongoing since October. The County has received public feedback online through Have Your Say, email, and written submissions. An online information session was held on November 25. The recording of that session is available on the County’s YouTube channel.

Following the statutory public meeting, staff will analyze all feedback received and bring forward a report to Council at the Committee of the Whole on Thursday, January 7. Once Council approves the Official Plan, the document is sent to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for review as the Minister has final authority over the Official Plan, which is required under provincial legislation.

Visit Have Your Say to review the draft plan. If you have questions or concerns, contact Michael Michaud, Manager of Planning, at 613.476.2148 extension 2025 or email mmichaud@pecounty.on.ca.
