March 9, 2023

Traffic disruptions will occur in the area of First Avenue and Habourview Crescent in Wellington March 13 – 17 due to a tree removal operation.

  • The contractor, Parkside Landscaping, will be removing the ash trees in the neighbourhood that are infected with emerald ash borer. Removal is required to prevent them from becoming a hazard to the public.
  • Planting will occur over time with preference to properties participating in the Adopt a Tree program. Learn more about how you can participate in the Adopt a Tree program for replanting.
  • There will be traffic disruptions and lane restrictions on First Avenue and Harbourview Crescent between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm.
  • Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.
  • The street will still be accessible but will have rolling lane blockages as the crews progress through the neighbourhood.
  • Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area if possible.
