Virtual public meeting for Blocknote Canada Inc. development at Part Lot 30, Concession 3 (Hillier) on June 8

May 25, 2022

Update on May 26, 2022: An earlier version of this notice included incorrect information about the proposed hotel that is part of this application. The notice has been updated to more accurately reflect the number of units proposed within the hotel.

A virtual public information meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 8 at 7 pm regarding the planning applications OPA-01-19 and Z59-19 (Blocknote Canada Inc.).

The County has received applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment for a tourist commercial development at Part Lot 30, Concession 3 in Hillier Ward.

Through these applications, the applicant seeks permission to develop an estate winery, a hotel, and a Nordic spa. The hotel is to consist of approximately 148 rooms, contained within 38 one-storey buildings.

Members of the public who wish to attend the virtual public meeting must register by contacting Matt Coffey, Planning Coordinator, Approvals, at mcoffey@pecounty.on.ca by noon on Monday, June 6. The meeting will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams. If you have any questions regarding accessing Microsoft Teams, please contact Mr. Coffey at the email address above.

Materials for each of the above applications can be viewed on The County’s website.

This public meeting is an information meeting only. Public information meetings are held as part of the updated planning application process adopted in 2021.

At a public information meeting, the proponent/agent will present the proposal. If any member of the public would like to ask questions or make comments, they will be able to do so after the presentation by the applicant.

The statutory public meeting required under the Planning Act will be a Planning Committee meeting and would only be held after the public information meeting and when the assigned County planner has completed an analysis of the project.
