A walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic will take place at the Rotary Club of Picton Hall (375 Picton Main Street) on Wednesday, July 7 from 6-9 pm.
No appointment is necessary for this clinic. Local youth between the ages of 12 and 17 can drop in to the clinic for their first or second dose if they meet the criteria. They will receive the Pfizer mRNA vaccine, as it is currently the only vaccine approved for this age group.
Local residents 18 years of age and older can also walk in to the clinic and get their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. They will be offered an mRNA vaccine (either Pfizer or Moderna) depending on supplies.
If you had Moderna or Pfizer for your first dose you can safely take either Moderna or Pfizer for your second dose for strong protection against COVID-19. If you had AstraZeneca for your first dose you can safely take either Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca for your second dose for strong protection.
The Prince Edward Family Health Team is hosting the clinic, in partnership with the County of Prince Edward. Please come prepared to wait in line with hydration and a lawn chair or in your vehicle with your ticket until your ticket number is called.
If you are looking to get the vaccine but cannot attend the drop in clinic on July 7, you can still book an appointment using the provincial system. To book, visit Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or call 1.833.943.3900. For more information, please visit Hastings Prince Edward Public Health.
If you don’t have access to a computer or require assistance, you can visit any branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library. Visit the Library website for more details about branch locations and hours. Also, several churches are helping members book vaccine appointments. Check with your local parish office.
