SUMMARY:Earth Week Talks: The Beauty of Compost/Staff Tree Update
DESCRIPTION:Composting plays a key role in sustainable management of food and yard waste. \nJoin Lise Bois (the Horticultural Society)\, and Robin Riley (Former Parks Superintendent and avid composter) for a discussion on the benefits of composts as well as a presentation on the various ways composting can be done in your backyard. \nThe event will be followed up with an update form Prince Edward county staff on their various sustainability initiatives include the Adopt-a-tree program and tree management throughout the community. Information packages on how to compost will be provided.

SUMMARY:COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
DESCRIPTION:A COVID-19 vaccination clinic will be held at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street\, Picton) on Tuesday\, April 25 from 3 pm to 6:30 pm \nThis clinic is by appointment only and is available to all people over the age of 6 months. You can book an appointment by going online to book or calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1.833.943.3900. \nThe Prince Edward Family Health Team is encouraging residents to get a bivalent booster as it increases your protection against severe COVID-19 from Omicron variants 40 per cent more than the previous boosters. \nThe COVID-19 vaccine clinic on April 25 will be the final one held at the Prince Edward Community Centre. Since the vaccine became widely available in Spring 2021\, 178 COVID-19 vaccination clinics have occurred at the Prince Edward Community Centre\, allowing thousands of County residents to get their vaccine close to home. \nEligible individuals can receive their vaccination at many participating local pharmacies\, by contacting the pharmacy directly. Please visit covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations for location and registration information. \nInformation about future vaccination clinics in the region is available on the Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health website.
