SUMMARY:Public Consultation Centre: Regional Water Supply Servicing Master Plan
DESCRIPTION:The County of Prince Edward is undertaking a Master Plan Study to identify long-term needs to support growth to ultimate buildout within the Urban Centres of Picton\, Wellington and Rossmore and the Villages of Bloomfield\, Ameliasburgh\, Peat’s Point\, Consecon and Carrying Place. \nThe Master Servicing Plan Study is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of  Approach 2 for Master Plans of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process\, which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. Phases 1 and 2 of the EA  process will be completed. \nA Public Consultation Centre (PCC) is being held to introduce the project\, preliminary results of activities completed to-date and to solicit public and stakeholder’s feedback on the information presented. The PCC will follow an open-house format. Project team representatives will be available to  answer questions and discuss next steps. \nAll information/comments received will be subject to the disclosure requirements of the Freedom of  Information and Protection of Privacy Act. R.S.O. 1990. With the exception of personal information\, all comments will become part of the public record. We welcome any suggestions you may have about this project.

SUMMARY:Workshop: Spotted Lanternfly Detection and Reporting
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this workshop is the spotted lanternfly\, an invasive pest spreading in nearby U.S. states\, with populations as close to Canada as Buffalo\, New York. Although not currently established in Canada\, if spotted lanternfly were to establish\, it could cause immense damage to Ontario grapevines\, tender fruit orchards\, hops\, parks\, and forests. \nPresented by the Invasive Species Centre\, this workshop will provide training on key information and tools to identify and report spotted lanternfly and its preferred plant host\, tree-of-heaven\, an invasive plant that is widespread throughout southern Ontario. \nThis in-person workshop is free of cost and is taking place on Thursday\, August 3\, 2023. \nAdvance registration is required: click here. \nThere are a limited number of registrations available\, so be sure to secure your place as soon as possible!

SUMMARY:Affordable Housing Information Session for Seniors
DESCRIPTION:The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation (PECAHC) has opened applications for housing in Wellington and Picton. \nPECAHC is developing two properties\, which will provide 52 units of affordable housing for occupancy by 2024. \nIn Wellington\, PECAHC is constructing a 36-unit multi-residential building on the site of the former Wellington Arena (230 Niles Street. The development will include a mix of of one-\, two- and three-bedroom units\, as well as four townhomes with three bedrooms each. \nIn Picton\, PECAHC is erecting a 12-unit multi-residential modular building on Disraeli Street. The building will include six bachelor and six one-bedroom unit. Rents will range from $620 for a bachelor unit to $1\,200 for a three-bedroom unit. \nPECAHC invites County residents to apply for these units. Three criteria will be used to review applications: \n\nHousing status: Whether the applicant currently has housing\, how affordable the housing is\, and if the housing is permanent or temporary.\nIncome: Must match the income ranges for the particular unit requested\, as set by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).\nResidency: The application is open to County residents\, as well as applicants who previously resided in the County and still work in the County. The application is also open to people who want to relocate to the County to care for a current County resident who needs assistance living at home.\n\nPECAHC will offer a public information session specifically for assisting seniors with their applications. The info session will be held at Picton Town Hall\, 2 Ross Street\, on Thursday\, July 20 at 1 pm. \nThe application is available online. Click here to access. DESCRIPTION:The County is currently undertaking two concurrent Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) studies for the proposed replacement of the existing Wellington water and wastewater treatment plants. \nThe need to replace both existing treatment plants was identified in the Wellington Master Servicing Plan (MSP) completed in 2021. New water and wastewater treatment plants are required to accommodate projected growth in the area and to address current capacity limitations with the existing system. \nA Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held as part of the Class EA process. The PIC will inform attendees about the various different alternative design concepts evaluated throughout this Class EA process for both treatment plants. The PIC will also provide the preliminary preferred solution that is being considered. The County is seeking input and comment from the public to be incorporated into the planning and design of these two projects.

Maybe her rage is ancestral\, dating back to all of the Indigenous women before her whose cases were closed without much of a search.
