SUMMARY:Public Information Centre - Wellington water and wastewater treatment plants Class Environmental Assessment
DESCRIPTION:The County is currently undertaking two concurrent Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) studies for the proposed replacement of the existing Wellington water and wastewater treatment plants. \nThe need to replace both existing treatment plants was identified in the Wellington Master Servicing Plan (MSP) completed in 2021. New water and wastewater treatment plants are required to accommodate projected growth in the area and to address current capacity limitations with the existing system. \nA Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held as part of the Class EA process. The PIC will inform attendees about the various different alternative design concepts evaluated throughout this Class EA process for both treatment plants. The PIC will also provide the preliminary preferred solution that is being considered. The County is seeking input and comment from the public to be incorporated into the planning and design of these two projects.

SUMMARY:Gin Sexsmith Book Launch and Signing
DESCRIPTION:Join Gin Sexsmith at Macaulay Church for a reading from her new book In The Hands of Men. Gin will chat about why she wrote the book\, her process\, take some questions and be available for signing. \nBooks will be available to purchase on site and tickets to attend are free. Please follow the ticket link to register. \nGin Sexsmith is an Indigenous writer and musician from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Obsessed with the darker sides of our psyche\, Gin’s work explores love\, loss\, sexuality\, and mental illness. \nIN THE HANDS OF MEN \nHaunted by the loss of her cousin\, Cedar\, Delilah has curated a world of revenge: playing judge\, jury\, and executioner while\, you know\, searching for love. Maybe murdering gives her the control she craves. Maybe it fills the gaping hole that was left when Cedar disappeared. Maybe her rage is ancestral\, dating back to all of the Indigenous women before her whose cases were closed without much of a search. She’s never been close to getting caught\, but as a virus ripples through the world\, devolving men into animals\, she gets a little sloppy. Now she must ask herself\, is she a monster too or is she simply taking her power back from the hands of men? \nWarning: This event deals with trauma and adult subject matter. Mature audiences only.
