2022 Election Results

The 2022 Municipal and School Board Election took place on October 24, 2022. Review the Official Declaration of Election Results for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Election.

All candidates and registered third party advertisers must file their financial statement and auditor’s reports (if required) on or before March 31, 2023, at 2 p.m.

The Clerk’s Office is required to make all Candidate’s Financial Statements available for viewing by the public in accordance with section 88(9.1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996

Financial Statements

 

Financial statements from candidates and registered third party advertisers in the 2022 municipal election filed under section 88 (9.1) are available below. 

Section 88.23(4) of the Municipal Elections Act, conveys that the Clerk shall make available to the public a report setting out all candidates in an election and indicating whether each candidate complied with Section 88.25 of the noted Act.  Section 88.23(5) of the Municipal Elections Act. The Act mandates that this report shall be made available as soon as possible after April 30th in the year following a regular election.

Compliance Audit

 

If you have reasonable grounds to believe that a candidate or third party advertiser has violated the campaign finance rules, you may request a compliance audit

An eligible elector who believes, on reasonable grounds, that a candidate or registered third-party advertiser has broken one of the election finance rules set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, may submit an application for a compliance audit to the Joint Compliance Audit Committee.

To submit an application:

  • Applicant must be an eligible elector in the County of Prince Edward.
  • Have reasonable grounds to contest the campaign finances of a candidate or registered third-party’s advertiser.
  • Complete the Application Form – Candidate.
  • Submit the application to the Clerk by Thursday, June 29, 2023.
