Answer the Call - make firefighting part of your life!

Being a Volunteer Firefighter in Prince Edward County isn’t something that you do — it’s who you are. Our Volunteer Firefighters have a deep commitment to our County and the safety of our residents and visitors, and if you’ve read this far then that’s likely true for you, too. Good. Because our Fire Services Department is actively recruiting Prince Edward County residents to join our team of dedicated volunteer and professional Firefighters. These are the people who answer the call to protect our community from the catastrophic effects of fire, sudden medical emergencies including those that happen on our many waterways, and exposure to other dangerous conditions, whether created by humans or nature. We welcome your interest and thank you for it, and we encourage you to click here to submit an application.

Students & Co-op Placement

Youth and Student Opportunities

We integrate youth into our workforce in the County of Prince Edward each summer. Positions are posted online at the beginning of each year, with the contract period typically starting in May and ending in August. Applicants should be currently enrolled in, or returning to, a secondary or recognized post-secondary education institution.
