Local Organizations with Services for Seniors
Community Care for Seniors offers a wide variety of services for seniors. Services include transportation, nutrition, active living programs, foot care, homemaking, tax filing, respite support for caregivers and more. Programs are delivered online and at locations across the County.
VON Hastings Northumberland Prince Edward helps people live in their homes and communities by delivering the caring support that they and their families need. Services include social connections like volunteer visits and adult day programs, home supports like meals and homemaking, and family and caregiver support and respite. Programs are delivered in Picton at the Picton United Church.
County Transit (operated by Quinte Transit) offers specialized transit services for seniors age 55+ and people living with disabilities. Contact County Transit to register for scheduled on-demand service that can get you where you need to go. Services include door-to-door or door-to-bus-stop transit, plus fixed routes that connect the main towns in the County and Belleville.
The Prince Edward County Library offers a variety of programs that are welcoming to seniors. Typical events include Functional Fitness, social events, technology workshops, language practice groups and music jams. Programs are offered at five locations across the County.
Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre offers a community pool and fitness and wellness programming that is welcoming to seniors. Group fitness classes include Aquafit, Aging Stronger and Keep Fit, which are designed for senior inclusion.
