Short-term Accommodations

The County of Prince Edward classifies a short-term accommodation (STA) as a dwelling or dwelling unit, or any portion of it, that is rented for a period of less than 30 days.

STA categories include: secondary residence STAs; primary residence STAs; and, bed and breakfast establishments that rent up to four bedrooms or suites. Motels, hotels, hostels, tourist inns, or accommodations where no payment is exchanged are not considered STAs.

County Council enacted amendments to By-law No. 108-2021 to licence, regulate and govern the operation of STAs in Prince Edward County.
