DESCRIPTION:The County of Prince Edward will be hosting several pop-up events in May to distribute PEC Summer Passes. \nThe Summer Pass allows residents and taxpayers to park in designated parking spaces near the water access points at the end of Bakker Road and County Road 20 (Huyck’s Point Road). \nPop-up events will be held at the Consecon Library (211 County Road 29) and the Wellington Library (261 Wellington Main Street) on the following dates: \n\nSaturday\, May 3: Consecon Library from 1 pm to 4 pm\nThursday\, May 8: Consecon Library from 10 am to 1 pm\nSaturday\, May 10: Wellington Library from 10 am to 1 pm\nThursday\, May 15: Wellington Library from 10 am to 1 pm\n\nPlease complete the online registration form prior to picking up your pass. \nSummer passes will remain available at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main Street) throughout the summer. Passes can be picked up Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 5 pm. \nBeginning on Friday\, May 23\, passes will be available for pick up at the Wellington Museum (290 Wellington Main Street)\, Wednesday to Sunday between 10 am and 4 pm. \nWatch the Summer Hub on the County’s website for additional pop-up pick up locations. \nEffective January 1\, 2025\, there is a pass replacement fee of $10.00 as per the Fees and Charges By-Law 145-2024. A replacement pass is an identical copy of a previous pass. If you lose or damage your pass and need one with the same vehicle information\, a replacement fee applies. SUMMARY:PEC Summer Pass: Pickup event
DESCRIPTION:If you do not have a valid yellow PEC Summer Pass\, you can register for a new green 2024 PEC Summer Pass. The green pass will be valid for three years and will expire at the end of 2026. \nGetting a green pass is a two-step process. You will need to register using the online form and then go in person to a pick up location or event to collect your pass. \nPicking up your pass\nAfter you have registered\, you will need to pick up your pass. To obtain your green 2024 PEC Summer Pass\, come in person to a pick up location/event (see schedule below) and bring the following: \n\nProof that you are a resident or taxpayer of the County of Prince Edward. Bring a photo ID that has your County address on it; or\, if your ID does not have a County address on it\, you must also bring a tax bill\, water bill\, lease agreement\, or other official document with your name and County address on it.\nProof that your vehicle(s) is/are registered to your household (ownership card or insurance card with your name and/or your County address\, plus the licence plate for the vehicles you wish to register).\n\nNOTE: Without proof of residency AND vehicle ownership you will not be given a pass. SUMMARY:Affordable Housing Information Session
DESCRIPTION:The Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation (PECAHC) has opened applications for housing in Wellington and Picton. \nPECAHC is developing two properties\, which will provide 52 units of affordable housing for occupancy by 2024. \nIn Wellington\, PECAHC is constructing a 36-unit multi-residential building on the site of the former Wellington Arena (230 Niles Street. The development will include a mix of of one-\, two- and three-bedroom units\, as well as four townhomes with three bedrooms each. \nIn Picton\, PECAHC is erecting a 12-unit multi-residential modular building on Disraeli Street. The building will include six bachelor and six one-bedroom unit. Rents will range from $620 for a bachelor unit to $1\,200 for a three-bedroom unit. \nPECAHC invites County residents to apply for these units. Three criteria will be used to review applications: \n\nHousing status: Whether the applicant currently has housing\, how affordable the housing is\, and if the housing is permanent or temporary.\nIncome: Must match the income ranges for the particular unit requested\, as set by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).\nResidency: The application is open to County residents\, as well as applicants who previously resided in the County and still work in the County. The application is also open to people who want to relocate to the County to care for a current County resident who needs assistance living at home.\n\nPECAHC will offer public information sessions to help people complete their applications: \n\nTuesday\, June 27\, 1 pm\, Picton Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library\, (208 Picton Main Street)\nThursday June 29\, 10:30 am\, Consecon Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library (211 County Road 29)\nThursday\, June 29\, 1 pm\, Wellington Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library (261 Wellington Main Street)\n\nA session specifically for seniors will be held at Picton Town Hall\, 2 Ross Street\, on Thursday\, July 20 at 1 pm. \nThe application is available online. Click here to access.
