The Water and Wastewater Department is currently conducting emergency watermain repairs on Philip Street between Maitland Street and John Street in Picton.
- Repairs began around 10 am on Tuesday, January 20. Work is expected to be completed at approximately 5 pm.
- Philip Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic, but further traffic disruptions may be required including this section of the street being closed with local traffic only in place. Traffic control will be in place. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
- Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the construction area may experience pressure fluctuations and/or coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
