The Water and Wastewater Department will be making an emergency watermain repair on Johnson Street between Picton Main Street and Hill Street in Picton on Thursday, March 12.
- Repairs will begin at approximately 9 am on March 12, with an expected completion time of 5 pm.
- Johnson Street will be closed to motorists between Picton Main Street and Hill Street. Traffic control will be in place for local traffic. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
- Heavy equipment will limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the repair.
- These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, residents in the construction area may experience pressure fluctuations and/or coloured water while construction is taking place. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of construction.
- If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once work is complete.
