Learn more about Outlet Bridge rehabilitation at public information centre April 23

April 10, 2026

The County of Prince Edward will share more details about the rehabilitation of the Outlet Bridge at a public information centre (PIC) on Thursday, April 23.

The PIC will take place from 6 – 8 pm at the Athol Town Hall (1685 County Road 10, Cherry Valley).

The PIC will consist of a drop-in format with displays showing the recommended plan for the bridge rehabilitation.  County staff and the project consultant will be on hand to answer any questions.

County Council approved the project as part of the 2026 tax-supported capital budget. Detailed structural investigations in 2024 found wide cracking in several elements of the bridge structure. In addition, the deck barrier system must be replaced to meet current standards.

The bridge rehabilitation is anticipated to be completed from May – October 2026. A minimum of one lane of traffic is anticipated to be maintained throughout the duration of the work.

For more information, please contact Garrett Osborne, Project Manager, at 613.476.2148 extension 2002 or email gosborne@pecounty.on.ca.
