Traffic monitoring work at intersections in Picton taking place September 3

September 2, 2026

Civica Infrastructure will be conducting flow monitoring activities on Thursday, September 3 at the following intersections in Picton:

    • Bridge Street and East Mary Street
    • Paul Street and King Street
  • This work may cause temporary traffic and pedestrian disruptions as well as lane restrictions between 7 am and 7 pm.
  • Contractor vehicles and equipment will be present within the municipal road allowance for the duration of the work.
  • Road users are asked to approach the work areas with caution and follow all posted signage and directions from workers. Work zones will be clearly identified using appropriate traffic control devices to maintain public safety.
  • Traffic monitoring activities are temporary in nature and are intended to collect information to support infrastructure planning and analysis.

The municipality reminds the public about the importance of meeting all permit requirements before undertaking work within the municipal road allowance. Permits help ensure that work within the municipal road allowance is completed safely, properly, and without damage to public infrastructure. They also allow the municipality to coordinate work, minimize disruptions, and protect the safety of all road users.

In addition, a road occupancy permit is required for temporary use or occupation of municipal property, even if no digging or construction is involved.

Access to and utilization of municipal rights-of-way within the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the County of Prince Edward are governed by By-law No. 116-2025. Any unauthorized activity, including obstruction, excavation, occupation, or damage to public highways and municipal property, constitutes a contravention of the by-law and may result in administrative penalties as prescribed therein.
