County Commons Co-Working
County Commons is a co-working pilot program hosted at Picton Town Hall. It offers a shared workspace for area professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives to work, connect, and collaborate.
County Commons is an initiative by the County of Prince Edward Economic Development office to explore co-working opportunities for our community.
We were encouraged to pilot co-working opportunities through a recent business retention and expansion survey focusing on professional services and remote workers.

Who can attend?
Anyone who needs a productive workspace—remote workers, freelancers, small business owners, students, seniors and creatives. You may see one or two civil servants there. All are welcome!
What should I bring?
Your laptop, charger, headphones, and any work-related materials you need. You are responsible for your belongings. We recommend labelling cords or other items that can be easily mistaken for another’s.
What shared amenities are available?
- Shared, open Wi-Fi network
- Seating and tables
- Power outlets
- Coffee/tea station
- Networking opportunities
Can I take calls or meetings?
Yes, but please use headphones for calls and keep your voice low. Longer or louder calls should be taken outside. There is no space for in-person meetings.
Is the internet secure?
We provide shared Wi-Fi. During the pilot phase, we ask your patience as we learn about bandwidth capacity. For sensitive work, we recommend using a VPN. We ask that co-workers follow our Internet Use Policy (no illegal downloads, hacking, or inappropriate content).
Is there tech support on site?
Not during the pilot phase. We’ll see what we need based on user experience and feedback during the pilot phase.
Is food allowed?
Light snacks and drinks are welcome. Please clean up after yourself. We highly recommend making plans with fellow co-workers for a lunch break at a restaurant or cafe nearby.
Will there be networking opportunities?
Absolutely! We’re planning to host lunch-and-learns and cinq-a-septs to connect with other service providers and explore hot topics. If you’re interested in being featured, please be in touch.
