All dogs must be licensed each year

April 24, 2025

The County of Prince Edward is reminding all dog owners that their pets must be licensed by March 31 of each year.

The cost for each dog tag is $30 or $20 for dogs that are spayed or neutered. Dog tags help return lost pets to their owners.

Dog tags can be purchased:

Sporting Dog Licence:

A Sporting Dog Licence is available in some areas of Prince Edward County, for households requesting to have more than three dogs. Sporting dog licences are issued through By‐law Enforcement. To book an appointment to obtain a sporting dog licence, or for more information, contact Canine Control at 613.476.7666.

Owners of unlicensed dogs in the County are subject to a $55 fine. More information is available in By-law 2958-2011 – Dog Licensing Regulation and Registration.
