Apply now for Municipal Financial Relief Grant

Low-income Prince Edward County residents can now apply for financial relief on their property taxes or water/wastewater bills for their primary residence through the Municipal Financial Relief Grant.

Applications will be accepted until July 15, 2025.

  • County residents can apply for one of the two available grant streams:
    • Qualifying tenants who pay for water and wastewater services can apply for a credit of up to $350 on their water bill.
    • Qualifying homeowners can apply for a credit of up to $750 on their property tax account.
  • Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of August; credits are applied ahead of September bills.
  • Households earning less than $32,240 (single income) or $64,480 (family income) will be able to apply.
  • Households that earn $20,000/year or less would receive a $1,000 credit toward their property taxes or $500 toward their water bill.

Information and Help Sessions:
Information and help sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 20 from 10 am – 12 pm at the Prince Edward Community Centre (375 Picton Main Street)
  • Friday, May 23 from 1 pm – 3 pm at the Wellington and District Community Centre (111 Belleville Street)
