Residents can now apply to the Municipal Financial Relief Program. The program helps people in Prince Edward County who have low incomes by lowering the amount they pay for property taxes or municipal water through a credit on their bill.
This program is administered on the municipality’s behalf by The County Foundation. Detailed information about the program can be found on the Foundation’s website.
Applications will be received until July 15, 2026. Applicants will be notified about their grant amounts and payment details in late August 2026. Bill credits and grant cheques (where applicable) will be issued in September 2026.
Residents can apply online on The County Foundation’s website. Paper applications are also available and were sent in the recent property tax and water bill mail outs. The eligibility criteria have changed to make the program available to more households. Residents are encouraged to read the program details carefully.
