Are you interested in helping to facilitate democracy in action? The County of Prince Edward is seeking election officials to perform duties in the 2026 municipal election.
Election officials uphold the integrity and accessibility of the electoral process, helping to manage elections in an efficient, fair, and impartial manner.
Election officials will be required to work from:
- Saturday, October 17, 2026 from 9 am to 5 pm
- Monday, October 26, 2026 from 9 am to 9 pm
Come and join the 2026 municipal and school board trustee election team. We are recruiting the following positions:
The rate of pay is $18.00 to $19.00 per hour. Election officials will also be paid for attending the mandatory training session.
To work as an election official, you must be at least 16 years of age or older. We are seeking candidates who:
- are personable;
- have problem-solving skills;
- demonstrate leadership skills
- can communicate effectively in English or French (is an asset);
- comfortable using computers
- can work long shifts (up to 12+ hours on Election Day); and
- can travel if required and hold a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle, if needed.
Previous election experience is considered an asset. Please note that positions and voting locations are assigned by the Clerk’s Office. Application deadline is July 20, 2026 at 4 pm. You can submit your application online or in-person at Wellington Town Hall (246 Wellington Main Street).
