The County of Prince Edward is looking to attract a diverse range of dedicated community volunteers to serve on the following advisory committee and working group:
- Ward Recreation Committees (opportunities available for multiple wards): suitable for someone who has a passion for bringing their ward together and/or has party planning experience.
- Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) Education & Outreach Working Group: suitable for someone who has an interest in public outreach and engagement channels to support the Environmental Advisory Committee’s initiatives.
Recruitment for these two opportunities, as well as Youth-Positions (ages 16-25), will remain ongoing. Currently there are youth positions available for the following committees:
- Agriculture Advisory Committee (1 youth position)
- Built & Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee (2 youth positions)
- Traffic Advisory Committee (1 youth position)
Becoming a member of a citizen committee or working group offers residents a unique chance to volunteer their highly valued skills and knowledge to strengthen our shared sense of community.
To be eligible to serve on a committee or working group, applicants must be:
- A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident living in Prince Edward County; or
- A property or business owner in Prince Edward County;
- A minimum of 16 years of age or older.
- There may be additional eligibility requirements required by legislation for membership, which are outlined in the terms of reference.
